Flat roofing and GRP in Lancing and Worthing that stays dry.
Torch-on felt and GRP fibreglass flat roofs for extensions, garages, dormers, porches and bay windows. Properly detailed at the upstands, outlets and edges, which is where flat roofs usually let go.

Felt or fibreglass for Lancing and Worthing flat roofs, one standard.
Torch-on felt is the proven workhorse for flat roofs: three layers, heat-bonded, with mineral cap sheet on top. It suits garages, extensions and larger areas and is very good value.
GRP fibreglass is a seamless, one-piece roof laid wet onto a new deck and cured hard. No joints, no seams, a clean finish, and ideal for smaller roofs, balconies and anywhere you can see the roof from an upstairs window.
Simon installs both. What matters more than the system is the detailing: the upstands against walls, the drips at the edge, the outlets and the fall so water actually leaves the roof.
- Torch-on felt, three layer, mineral finish
- GRP fibreglass with new OSB deck
- New fascias, drip trims and outlets fitted
- Insulation upgraded where the roof is being replaced
- Skylights and lanterns flashed in
- Old roof stripped and cleared away
Why flat roofs fail.
Pooling water
A roof without enough fall holds water, which finds every weak seam. New decks are laid with a proper fall to the outlet.
Cracked or lifted seams
Old felt shrinks and splits at the laps. Once it does, it is usually time to replace rather than patch.
Poor upstands
Where the roof meets a wall it needs to turn up at least 150mm under a flashing. Most leaks start here.
Blocked outlets
Leaves and moss stop water leaving the roof. Part of any S&K flat roof is making sure it drains.

How long does a felt or GRP flat roof last?
A well laid torch-on felt roof should give twenty years or more, and GRP fibreglass longer still. The detailing at the edges and upstands is what decides it, which is why S&K spends the time there.
Can you replace my garage roof?
Yes. Garage, extension, porch, dormer and bay window roofs are all regular jobs. Simon strips the old covering, checks the deck, and lays a new felt or GRP roof with new trims.
Do you work on dormer roofs?
Yes, dormer flat roofs and cheeks are common in Worthing and Lancing homes, often in GRP because the roof is visible from the house.
Felt or fibreglass, which should I choose?
Felt is great value on larger roofs; GRP gives a seamless finish on smaller or visible ones. Simon will look at the roof and recommend one, with the reasons.
